B.S/BE/BTECH in a technical field or any relevant tertiary degree in Computer Science or related areas of education
5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, installation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for various
Experience in Apache Tomcat Administration, Weblogic, WebSphere, Jboss, Message Brokers, Message Queues.
Experience in Integrating application servers and MQ.
Ability to Start / stop application/web services, thread dump, heap dump and log analysis, apply upgrades & patches.
Configuration management expertise – Chef, SVN etc.
Installation and management of security certificates
Knowledge of operating systems – Linux, scripting skills to automate jobs.
Troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Data management knowledge – Hbase/Hadoop.
Use of monitoring tools to troubleshoot performance issues – Appdynamics, etc
Backup and restoration of application/web servers data
Incident management (Production Support) – ITSM Tool – Service Now
Conceptual knowledge of Business continuity and DR planning
Business Knowledge: Domain experience would be a plus
Basic knowledge of Server virtualization, debugging, and tuning
Capacity planning of infrastructure (Sizing of servers based on traffic volumes)
Better understanding of DevOps concepts
Basic knowledge of network infrastructure for e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, router, load balancer etc.
One or more Product certification in the area of expertise
Puppet or other automation scripting a plus
Splunk reporting a plus
Experience using automated monitoring tools like Nagios.
Willingness to mentor junior staff members
Strong oral, written, communications, and presentation skills
Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone,
conferencing, online meeting)
Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to provide after hour or "on-call" support when necessary
to solve high profile issues or complete critical path projects
